The NYS-SL Chapter of the AMS will meet next month at the State University of New York at Fredonia. The conference will begin at 9:30 on Saturday morning and conclude by 12:00 on Sunday afternoon. A reminder that there is a $20.00 meeting fee for full-time faculty/$10 for all others in lieu of an annual membership fee.
The schedule includes 11 diverse papers and a keynote by Jamie Currie (University at Buffalo) titled "Deficient Media, Extraordinary Musics, Mozart, Distance--and the Art of Love.” We are hosting a lunch session for graduate students – “Dissertation-to-Publication Workshop” – where free box lunches will be provided courtesy of the Fredonia Musicology Society.
On Saturday evening you are invited to see the College of Visual and Performing Arts production of the rock musical Spring Awakening. While a block of tickets is being held for meeting participants until April 1, those interested in attending should book tickets soon as this performance will sell out quickly.
