Call for Papers 2017 Meeting of the NYSSL Chapter of the AMS April 22 - 23, 2017 Faculty of Music, University of Toronto Deadline for Proposals: Friday 17 February 2017, by 5:00 p.m. EST The Spring meeting of the New York State St. Lawrence Chapter of the American Musicological Society will take place on Saturday 22 April through Sunday 23 April 2017 at the University of Toronto. You are invited to submit abstracts in all areas of scholarship on music to the Program Committee Chair, Caryl Clark, at c.clark@utoronto.ca . The deadline for submissions is 5:00 p.m. EST on Friday 17 February 2017. Fall Update & Next Chapter Conference

Greetings and Happy Fall to all members of the NYSSL chapter, As we start to prepare for the November meeting of the American Musicological Society in Vancouver, I thought now would be a good time to invite members comments for the National meeting of the Chapter Societies. Drop me an email if you would like an issue brought forward at this meeting. We can also confirm that the 2017 NYSSL chapter meeting will be held at the University of Toronto, April 22-23. This coincides with the Canadian Opera Company's production of Louis Riel, which premiers on the 20th, and has a second performance on the 23rd. Sherry Lee and Caryl Clark from the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music are also hosting an all-day symposium on the opera April 21. NYSSL members are warmly invited to attend. AMS-NYSSL 2016 Call for Dues

The NYSSL Chapter of the American Musicological Society welcomes all music scholars and graduate students from Ontario, Québec and New York State. You do not have to be a member of the AMS to be a member of the chapter. Membership runs from January 1 to December 31 annually. We encourage members to pay for multiple years to cut down on paperwork.  As a further means of going green and cutting down on paperwork, dues will be received by e-transfer to our Secretary Treasurer, Colleen Renihan. This applies to both new and renewed membership. Please send an e-transfer addressed to crenihan@uoguelph.ca . If you have been a member of the chapter and contact information has not changed, there is no need to send in further information (name and payment are sufficient). If you are a new member, please send an e-transfer with the note "New Member" in the body message to Colleen.
